Have a special recipe that has your family and friends begging for more? If so, you might want to compete for top prizes in a competition launched by MGM Resorts International.

The competition, Meeting Planner Recipe Showdown, is taking place in 12 North American cities—Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, Vancouver  and Washington, D.C. Planners can submit recipes for any type of dish—including appetizer, entree and dessert—that can be served for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a late-night snack.

A group of meeting planners will pick one winner in each of the 12 city showdowns, slated for August and September. The winners will be flown to Las Vegas during IMEX for the national finals, consisting of a 12-person cook-off on Oct. 13. Roy Ellamar, executive chef at Bellagio’s Sensi and winner of an episode of the Food Network’s Chopped, will be one of the judges.

The winner will receive an all-expense-paid trip to the South Beach Wine & Food Festival in Miami Feb. 19–22, 2015; the runner-up will be awarded a three-night stay at and MGM Resorts destination in Las Vegas, an airport limo transfer and a dinner each night; and the third-place finisher will receive a two-night stay at an MGM Resorts destination in Las Vegas, an airport limo transfer and dinner each night. mgmgrand.com
