Just minutes from downtown Washington, D.C., the 1,996-room hotel underwent a $64 million guest room renovation and will reopen in July. Fresh decor is inspired by the nation’s history and local vibes, from former presidents to cherry blossoms. Resort highlights include a 19-story garden atrium, a waterfront setting along the Potomac River and 600,000 sq. ft. of event space.

Hyatt Regency Monterey, California

The region’s largest conference hotel recently completed a property-wide redesign of its 560 guest rooms, suites and public spaces. A hammock garden, walking paths and an outdoor lounge are part of the revamp, as well as the addition of a signature restaurant, Sea Root Restaurant and Hearth, opening soon. The hotel has over 40,000 sq. ft. event space.

Hotel Effie, South Walton, Florida

Opened in February as part of Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, the 250-room hotel boasts the only rooftop pool on the Emerald Coast, a fitness center with kettlebells, TRX and Pelotons, plus Lilliana Spa, offering eco-luxe products like Osea and Supergoop. The new property adds 20,000 sq. ft. of meeting space to the 30,000 sq. ft. located at Baytowne Conference Center.

Sable at Navy Pier, Curio Collection by Hilton, Chicago

Opened in March as the 100th addition to the Curio Collection, the new hotel has 223 rooms in nautical styling with views to Lake Michigan. Guests will dine at Offshore, the largest rooftop bar ever, says Guinness Book of World Records. The pierside stay has three towers, so hosts can reserve entire wings; event space totals 43,000 sq. ft.
