Delta introduces Starbucks coffee on their flights

On February 1, Delta began serving up fresh brewed Starbucks coffee on all its flights worldwide. The beloved brand of coffee will be on more than 5,000 Delta and Delta Connection flights daily. Passengers can choose either Pike Place Roast, which contains caffeine, or the VIA Ready Brew Italian Roast decaf.

Delta and Alaska Airlines are currently the only airlines serving Starbucks inflight, although others have offered the brand in the past. American Airlines currently serves Java City coffee, United serves Hawaiian Kona blend and Southwest serves LIFT coffee, according to Coffee Crossroads.

Delta operated 1.8 million flights in 2014, transporting 170 million passengers. Starbucks projects that 68 million cups of its coffee will be served on Delta flights in 2015.

"The move continues Delta's effort to partner with high-quality, like-minded brands in an effort to enhance the overall traveling experience for customers," the airline said in a statement.
