Meeting Professionals International (MPI) World Education Congress (WEC) welcomed nearly 1,800 meeting and event professionals to Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio for three days of education, immersion in Texas culture and a focus on the power of human connections.

“WEC San Antonio reflected where our industry is headed, toward more human-centered experiences, immersive learning and meaningful connection,” said Paul Van Deventer, MPI president and CEO.

Resiliency in the Spotlight

With the theme of “Bring Your Events to Life”, main stage presentations told human stories of suffering and overcoming. We pulled some insightful questions that might help you scale the next roadblock in your career and life.

In total, 124 breakout sessions largely by event professionals for event professionals addressed pressing issues from crisis control to practical AI tools.

In the Marketplace, puppy yoga, cowboy hats and refreshments awaited along with a connection lounge area and tech solution providers.

A Taste of San Antonio

Inside and outside the Convention Center, the event was grounded in San Antonio culture, including a literal float parade down San Antonio River Walk during the opening session, updates on the NBA Spurs finals game and Rendezvous at the 1902 Club. The event raised $200,000 for MPI Foundation.
