The world has changed, but the job of the meetings professional’s role is the same-bring people together in meaningful ways to collaborate, learn and motivate action using all the tools available with measurable goals on a budget. Easier to say than do in the face of inflation and technology advances at the speed of RFPs. Leveraging insights from the 2023 FICP Industry and Perception Study, three financial and insurance meeting veterans come together to share their strategies for delivering results and managing change.

Panelists:

Cathy Diem is the Director of financial and insurance accounts for Hilton, representing Hilton properties in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean. She is a past president of the MPI Philadelphia Chapter and currently serves on FICP’s Hospitality Partner Advisory Committee. Outside of the industry, she is a trustee for the Raritan Valley YMCA, has been elected to public office and was a certified swim official for years. Cathy has two sons: Will who is a first responder and Matt who is a CPA. Cathy’s passions include yoga, travel and spending time with her kids and family.

Katrina Kent, CMP, CMM leads the Meeting Management and Event Strategy (MMES) team at Liberty Mutual, championing live and digital events as strategic tools to engage, further educate, build confidence, grow communities and celebrate the greatness of customers and employees. MMES is responsible for leadership and rewards and recognition programs, as well as customer and sponsorship events. Katrina joined Liberty Mutual in 2020 from TD Ameritrade, where she served as head of the Event Group, accountable for event channel orchestration for the enterprise. A life-long creative, Katrina holds a BFA from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and resides in the Garden State with her husband, Sean, and their two young children.

Jennifer C. Squeglia, CMP of RLC Events (RLC are the initials of her late father – Robert Lee Colburn), has the privilege to partner with clients from the financial and insurance industries, as well as defense and health care. Her career started in the hospitality industry 37 years ago, specializing in operations, catering and conference services. She transitioned to Boston in 1999 working on the great planning teams at John Hancock and Fidelity Investments. Jennifer opened RLC Events in 2007 and lives in Naples, Florida with her husband Paul.
