For the fifth consecutive year, the state of Florida welcomed a record number of visitors in 2015 when 105 million flocked to the Sunshine State. With a 6.6 percent increase in visitors over 2014, Florida experienced an 8.6 percent rise for tourism and taxable sales and an astonishing 72 percent average hotel occupancy rate.

From Jacksonville to Key West and Miami to Naples, global marketing strategies and new and renovated properties continue to push Florida into a tourism realm all its own. The statewide phenomenon is a lesson in both goal setting and accommodating demand.

“Florida’s tourism continues to achieve records upon records thanks to the extraordinary efforts of Visit Florida and our tourism industry partners who work tirelessly to attract visitors to our beautiful, diverse state,” says Bill Talbert, CDME, president and CEO of Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and chair of Visit Florida’s board of directors. “New and established tourism-related businesses are fueling growth, generating new jobs and paving the way for new milestones.”
