The changes brought on by the last two years have put meeting professionals in a place of more obstacles and more opportunity than they have seen in the collective past. Join Smart Meetings Editorial Director JT Long as she sits down with Destinations International’s Emily Scheiderer and Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board’s Darren Green to discuss what the RFP of the future looks like and, more importantly, how meeting professionals can leverage their meetings portfolio to maximize their success.

You will learn:

  • What is keeping meeting professionals up at night.
  • What resources are helping them move forward.
  • Real-world examples of what is working now.

Emily Scheiderer is a hospitality enthusiast with a background that includes both DMO and hotel experience. Emily’s passion for inclusivity has driven her to make meaningful connections both in and out of the industry that have included a two-year commitment to the ISAE Government Affairs committee and serving as an ambassador for the American Cancer Society’s ResearcHERS campaign. As a self-described “data nerd”, she enjoys any opportunity to expand her mind and learn.

Darren K. Green is senior vice president of sales and services with Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board. He is responsible for convention sales, hotel sales and client and destination services teams. In 2019, the travel & tourism industry was L.A. County’s third largest employer, supporting more than 544,000 jobs, driving $37.8 billion in economic output and generating $3 billion in state and local tax revenues.
