Reno-Sparks CVA Names Ellen Oppenheim as President and CEO

Oppenheim joins the RSCVA from San Diego, where she was deputy chief of neighborhood and customer services for the city of San Diego and, earlier, deputy city manager and director of park and recreation. Among her other top-level posts in the West were general manager of the L.A. department of recreation and parks, vice president/general manager for GES Exposition Services in South San Francisco; and director of conventions, cultural and visitor services for the city of San Jose. In addition to the Reno-Sparks bureau, the CVA is also responsible for managing several owned-and-operated facilities, including the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, Reno Events Center, National Bowling Stadium, Livestock Events Center, Wildcreek Golf Course and Northgate Golf Club.

Michael Robinson appointed president of the Vail Valley CTB

The Vail Valley Chamber & Tourism Bureau (VVCTB) has announced the appointment of Michael Robinson as the organization's new president. Robinson previously served as director of communications for the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, where, during his nine-year tenure, he supervised all the branding and marketing for the bureau. He also created Beverly Hills magazine, which has a distribution of nearly 200,000, and launched BeverlyHillsChamber.com, the bureau's successful web site, which sees more than 300,000 hits per month. Prior to joining the Beverly Hills chamber, Robinson was the owner of a boutique marketing agency and director of communications for Citi Equity Group, Inc.
