BOSTON−On opening day of PCMA Convening Leaders at the Hynes Convention Center, Active Network, Double Dutch and Freeman jumped into the spotlight with breaking news about tech products and services that will impact the meetings industry.
Active Network unveiled a new tool that will allow suppliers, such as hoteliers and convention sales staff, to respond to electronic RFPs up to 70 percent faster. Active MarketView 3.0 features pre-populated “favorite” responses, including information about meeting location specifications, default language and default currency. This feature will not only save users time as they complete eRFPs, but also ensures consistency with responses. Another bonus is that responses to the eRFPs are saved automatically without having to follow a wizard.
“Our goal is to provide suppliers with technology that gives them time back in their day to focus on high-value activities, such as building relationships with customers,” said David O’Donohoe, Active’s general manager for suppliers. “By making it quick and easy to accurately respond to eRFPs in a single page with pre-populated answers, Active MarketView 3.0 meets these needs.”
DoubleDutch, which specializes in data-driven mobile event applications, is promoting the release of a new app that takes advantage of iOS 7 for faster performance and improved data collection. The new technology will debut later this year at events powered by DoubleDutch. Trade show and conference attendees will experience a new user interface, complete offline mode and performance 10 times faster.
“With our latest release, we’ve optimized for speed and low connectivity performance, while making the features even more social and the underlying data-capture technology more seamless” said Lawrence Coburn, CEO and co-founder of DoubleDutch. “It’s quite simple: superior performance and dead simple usability will lead to maximum engagement. We believe that this release has raised the bar for mobile event technology.”
Freeman will once again raise the bar for A/V solutions in the hospitality industry by merging two companies to form Encore Event Technologies. AVT Event Technologies and Encore Productions have come together to deliver comprehensive and innovative in-house audiovisual, staging and production services that cater to the unique needs of hotels, hotel-casinos and resorts across North America.
“The integration of both divisions strengthens the principles that have been part of both companies since their creation,” said Ken Sanders, president of Freeman Audio Visual, a division of Freeman. “AVT and Encore have always had parallel philosophies–to deliver the most unique, creative and innovative solutions in the industry. We will continue to operate with this directive and continue to reinforce Freeman’s commitment to provide exceptional customer service and results.”
