Who We Are
Travel Alberta is the official destination marketing organization for the province of Alberta. Funded by the Government of Alberta through the four per cent Tourism Levy on accommodations,  we promote Alberta as a tourist destination regionally, nationally, and internationally to increase the number of visitors to and within Alberta.

Visitor Information Centres

We have 10 Travel Alberta Visitor Information centres strategically located at points of entry to the province and at other high traffic locations in Alberta. Stop in to speak with a knowledgeable Travel Alberta counsellor. All are well versed on local and regional attractions and travel requirements and are happy to assist you with trip planning. A wealth of travel literature, local and regional maps, brochures and guides are available. Consult our maps section for locations across Alberta.

TravelAlberta.com is the most comprehensive one-stop tourism web resource for information on all regions of the province. The advanced search feature supplies specific Alberta product listings for events, adventures, attractions and more.

Alberta tourism operators list their products and services in our searchable database, free of charge. Those who have chosen to list their products on our website are responsible for accuracy, representation, and availability. Please make your own inquiries directly to the operators to determine if they are satisfactory to your needs.

Alberta's tourism industry generates more than $5 billion in revenues plus more than $2.3 billion in taxation revenues to federal, provincial and municipal governments. REGIONS

Alberta Central
Discover Alberta's heartland, with lush agricultural areas and communities that take pride in their history and culture. Central Alberta is filled with stunning features: idyllic rolling foothills, expansive prairie vistas and the countless lakes that make this region an outdoor playground. Alberta North
Northern Alberta’s grandiose lakes, mighty rivers, abundant wildlife and untapped wilderness are the backdrop for an outdoor adventure of a lifetime. Experience it with a rod and reel in hand, by horseback, canoe, kayak, dogsled or snowmobile. Famous for its native and migratory bird populations, experienced guides and interpretive programs, this region is an outdoor paradise for naturalists.

Alberta South
From its rippling wheat fields to the Hoodoos of the Canadian Badlands, southern Alberta has a surprising array of topography and offers a look at history as far back as the Cretaceous period. We have three UNESCO World Heritage Sites for you to explore—all things prehistoric from dinosaurs to ancient First Nations campsites. Hike, camp, paddle, horseback ride, take a guided or self guided tour. Options are endless and varied for appreciating the mystery and beauty of southern Alberta.

Calgary & Area
Amidst its towering tributes to the oil and gas industry, Calgary is bustling with museums, theatres, art galleries, fine restaurants and superlative shops. Famed for its entrepreneurial spirit and youthful population, the city continues to honour its western heritage—especially evident during the Calgary Stampede every July.
