The La Jolla Shores Hotel features 128 comfortably appointed guest rooms, which feature oceanfront, coastline, or courtyard views.  Upstairs units open onto balconies, and ground-floor units onto lanais; both are furnished with a table and chairs.  On the third floor, where ceiling height is not restricted, rooms pitch upward, forming wood-paneled cathedral ceilings accented by wood beams.

Accommodations are available in king, queen or double and are furnished with a dresser, table and chairs, television, AM/FM clock radio, small refrigerator, coffee maker (with complimentary coffee, tea, sugar and cream), and a vanity area with a hair dryer, shampoos, lotions and extra linen.  Nineteen of the hotel’s guest rooms are also equipped with kitchenettes.  The La Jolla Suite features an oceanfront view with a living room, dining area, full kitchen, separate bedroom and oversized bathroom.

Recreational facilities include two tennis courts, a heated outdoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, fitness center and children's wading pool.  Beach accessories, including towels, tables, and beach chairs, are provided free of charge. Barbecues and banquet set-ups are also available in the evenings on the beach for modest fees.  Private and semi-private tennis lessons are available from United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) instructors.  In-room massage services are also available. 

La Jolla Shores Hotel guests can choose from two oceanfront restaurants, the Shores Restaurant, featuring classic steakhouse favorites and fresh, coastal cuisine; and the Marine Room Restaurant, a popular oceanfront haven located south of the hotel and widely acclaimed for its award-winning food and spectacular edge-of-the-surf view.

Unique Meetings

The La Jolla Shores Hotel features over 7,500 square feet of flexible space perfect for meetings, receptions, banquets, corporate retreats, and special events. 

The Acapulco Room, is over 1,300 square feet, has an ocean view, and an outdoor terrace that provides panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, La Jolla Cove and Scripps Pier. With the capability of separating into 2 smaller spaces, it is ideal for break-out sessions. The Acapulco Deck provides the perfect setting for coffee and lunch breaks.

The La Jolla Room is approximately 1,000 square feet and has cathedral ceilings, windows on 3 sides of the room, and seating for 60 guests. Adjacent to the patio and pool, this room is a perfect setting for your special event. The patio may be used in conjunction with the La Jolla Room to accommodate an event for 100 to 150 guests.

The Aztec Room is a 600 square foot boardroom style facility, designed for small gatherings or meetings. Double doors open up to the veranda which overlooks the courtyard patio area.

The hotel also features unique outdoor venues including the Garden Patio.  Our fabulous arbor allows you and your guests to dine under the California sky on the Garden Patio which can accommodate up to 150 guests.  The soft, sandy beach is also steps away from the hotel and a full-service catering staff is available to help organize and coordinate breakfasts, luncheons, dinners, receptions and other group events.

Shores Patio    
This tropically landscaped outdoor patio is the perfect location for a wedding reception, corporate or special event banquet.  With sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean this nearly 1,300 square foot patio can be used to accommodate events of up to 225 guests.  

Local Area

The La Jolla Shores Hotel’s location directly on the beach and central location to popular San Diego attractions and activities make it a wonderful setting for group events and outings.  Within walking distance are a variety of businesses offering kayaking tours, surf lessons, scuba or snorkel expeditions, perfect for an afternoon of recreation or team building. 

A 10-minute walk from the La Jolla Shores Hotel, downtown La Jolla itself is an attraction.  Scenic Coast Boulevard winds along the shoreline.  Overlooking Coast Boulevard are the trendy shops of Girard Avenue and the posh restaurants of Prospect Street.

Three championship golf courses are within three miles of the hotel, including Torrey Pines Golf Course, whose 36 pine-dotted fairways skirt the Pacific Ocean coastline, and will play host to the 2008 US Open. 

The La Jolla Shores Hotel is within 15 minutes of other popular area attractions, including the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the Stephen Birch Aquarium-Museum, the San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art, Salk Institute, the University of California at San Diego, Torrey Pines State Park and Glider Port. 

Attractions outside La Jolla, but still within 30 minutes or less, are the San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, Old Town, Del Mar racetrack, Seaport Village and Balboa Park.
