The Lord Baltimore Hotel and Ripley’s Believe It or Not have partnered to produce a weirdly unique baby-making package to assist guests in their reproductive pursuits. The “And Baby Makes Three…or More” package includes taxi vouchers and free tickets to Ripley’s fertility exhibit, where visitors can receive blessings from mystical fertility statues. The wooden carvings are part of a touch-and-feel ritual that is purported to help couples in the baby department.
Guests then return to the hotel in Baltimore to indulge in a chef’s selection of libido-enhancing hors d’oeuvres served in the kitchen, which was known as the “boom-boom room” during the 1960s. The baby-making package includes a stay in the parlor suite, with complimentary champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, cake and scented candles, to further set the mood. The hotel even provides a baby’s first plush toy to take home, in case a couple’s efforts are successful.
If the overnight stay produces a little bundle of joy, guests can send a copy of the birth announcement nine months later and be welcomed back for a free first birthday party. Lord Baltimore points out that results are not guaranteed, and guests must be over 21 to participate. The promotion runs through November 30, and costs $299 per couple.
