TSA Considers Digital Avatars in Airport Security Lines

Digitally projected, virtual assistants who can answer travelers’ questions are already a familiar sight in some airport terminals, but eventually you may start seeing friendly holograms in the security line. The Transportation Security Administration has issued a request for information on Virtual Communication Instructional Devices. The agency is asking vendors to supply details on technology they are developing or currently offering that could assist passengers in multiple languages, inform them about restricted items and help them pass through checkpoints as efficiently as possible. The agency is only conducting market research at this point and has not decided to seek proposals for such a system. informationweek.com
