Tropicana Las Vegas Joins the Hilton Family

The Tropicana Las Vegas will become a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in January, giving Hilton a presence on the Las Vegas Strip for the first time in 14 years. Tropicana Las Vegas Hotel and Resort Inc. will continue to own and operate the 1,600-room, 35-acre resort under the strategic franchise agreement. Once the conversion is complete, guests will be able to earn and redeem Hilton HHonors points at the property, which first opened in 1957. Coming out of bankruptcy in 2009, the resort has been bolstered by a $200 million renovation that wrapped up last year and included upgrades to its 60,000 sq. ft. of meeting and exhibition space. hiltonworldwide.com
