Resort to Become First Autograph Collection Property in California

Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa will become the first hotel in California to join Marriott International’s Autograph Collection. The move came after Carey Watermark Investors of New York paid $26.5 million to acquire a 97% stake in the lakeside resort near San Bernardino.  The property, which features 173 rooms and 20,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, is currently undergoing a $3.7 million renovation. Being part of the Autograph Collection allows independent hotels to be part of Marriott’s reservation system and offer Marriott Rewards points. At least seven hotels have joined the program so far this year, including Turnberry Isle Miami, Blue Moon Hotel and Winter Haven Hotel in Miami; The Saint Hotel in New Orleans; and Carlton Hotel in New York. The portfolio currently features 34 hotels.
