Regional Hawaii Airline Upgrades Fleet, Brand

Island Air, a regional Hawaiian airline providing service between islands, is overhauling its fleet, business model and branding. In August, the carrier will begin replacing its Dash 8 aircraft with ATR42 and ATR72 turboprop planes, which will be more fuel efficient and carry more passengers. In addition, the company is rebranding itself, introducing a new website, logo and paint scheme for its planes. Changes will be introduced incrementally and should be fully implemented by fall. Founded in 1980, Island Air offers more than 350 weekly flights between the islands of Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kauai and the Big Island. prnewswire.com
