Delta Air Lines Buys Naming Rights to Milwaukee Convention Center

Milwaukee’s downtown convention center is switching airlines. The Frontier Airlines Center will be changing its name to The Delta Center now that Delta Air Lines has purchased the naming rights. The change is expected within the next 30 days. The center last switched names in 2010 when Frontier merged with the facility’s previous namesake, Midwest Airlines. Frontier has been paying $500,000 a year to have its name on the building, but earlier this year it drastically scaled back its service to Milwaukee. The naming rights were due to expire in June, but Delta is picking up the remainder of the contract, and Milwaukee officials are hoping to negotiate a new multiyear agreement. jsonline.com
