The San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau appointed Leonard Hoops as executive vice president, sales and marketing, overseeing convention sales and services, marketing, tourism and public relations. Hoops was senior vice president and chief marketing officer with the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Marriott International named Charlene Nakamura director of national accounts for the company’s portfolio of Hawaiian Islands hotels and resorts, a newly created position in Honolulu. She was national sales manager for the former Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki Hotel and, earlier, a convention services manager for the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau.
Dick Brezinski was appointed general manager of Adam’s Mark Hotel Denver, the largest hotel in Colorado, with 1,225 rooms. He was managing director of Adam’s Rib Ranch, a private golf community in Eagle, Colo., developed by Fred Kummer, owner of HBE Corporation, the parent company of all Adam’s Mark Hotels.
Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts appointed John Lozano as director of sales and catering at Asilomar Conference Grounds, a historic oceanfront retreat in Pacific Grove, Calif. He was senior sales manager for Moonstone Hotel Properties.
Pointe South Mountain Resort, a Four-Diamond resort at the base of the South Mountain desert preserve in Phoenix, promoted Charles Naberhaus to managing director and Paul Gray to general manager. Naberhaus was previously general manager, and Gray, director of operations.
