Economy Delays Vegas Plans
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has adjusted plans for the $890-million renovation of the Las Vegas Convention Center. The move will save money but delay the completion date beyond the original 2011 target. The project will now be broken into three phases, beginning with renovations on existing buildings, and will save the CVA $46 million over the next three years. When phase one is nearly complete, they will reassess the viability of going forward with phases two and three.
