Destination Description
Located right next to Mexico City is Tlaxcala. This state has a whole adventurous culture of its own. Best known for the annual Running of the Bulls, which takes place within the state, Tlaxcala is also an impressive site for historical architecture. The state has also made its mark though exotic signature dishes. The state is known for many of its corn-based dishes, including a delicious tortilla soup, a special cornmeal pancake and a dish involving chicken wrapped in maguey leaves.
If the running of the bulls isn’t your thing, the state also hosts a slew of less athletic festivals. The city of Huamantla is a hub of celebration, and is also known for its beautiful prayer rugs.
