Destination Description
Queretaro is a favorite of travelers who have frequented Mexico. The unique blend of Mexican and European cultures, antique architecture and design details in the state’s main cities, as well as modern additions making the area a luxury destination, really make an impact. The state attracts many visitors because of its famous baroque architecture. The historic architecture is just one of the representations of the many important historical events that occurred within the state. The Mexican constitution was signed in Queretaro in the Teatro de la Republica, a structure that still stands in the state capital.
Stepping back from the metropolitan hubs, Queretaro also offers outdoor attractions. In San Juan del Rio, visitors can embark upon a hot air-balloon ride, or try paragliding in El Sotano del Barro.
