Oaxaca’s state capital, is a city of the same name, and has an impressive showing of classic baroque architecture, green quarry stone buildings and extensive museums. The Museo de las Culturas de Oaxaca, which is housed in the Ex-Convent of Santo Domingo, is an impressive collection, expounding upon the local culture of the area, amid the gorgeous setting of an antique convent.
