Located in northern Utah, Heber Valley is most known for being the site of the Heber Valley Historic Railroad. This heritage railroad is 16 miles long, and runs between Heber City and Vivian Park. Round trip on the railroad takes roughly three hours, but allows passengers to see many of the sites that distinguish the region. Mount Timpanogos, Deer Creek Damn and the Provio River are all visible from the rails, and riding the train really gives passengers a chance to leisurely view these stunning natural attractions. This preservation of history was very important in the development of the Heber Valley. Even the local Avon Theater, a movie theater constructed in 1950, has been immaculately restored to accurately depict the time of its origin.

For an attraction that doesn’t need any help in terms of restoration, spend some time at the Deer Creek State Park. Heralded as being one of the most beautiful locations in Utah, the park offers wind-surfing, boating fishing and camping facilities.
