Mexico welcomes you back! Now more than ever, despite of all crisis in worldwide travel, Mexico is a destination oriented in the future, close to home, and offering a myriad of destinations for meetings and conventions that will exceed all your expectations.
Mexico has always had the image of an exciting, safe, and multi-product destination. Now more than ever, despite of all crisis in worldwide travel, Mexico is a destination oriented in the future, close to home, and offering a myriad of destinations for meetings and conventions that will exceed all your expectations, offering currently a very good value for money. No other country can offer the diversity that Mexico has to offer from wonderful seaside to colonial cities with a great archeological and natural richness. Your allies, the Mexico Convention Bureau (MCB) a specialized area of the Mexico Tourism Board, has been created to assist Meeting and Incentive Planners with destination information and promotion. The Mexico Convention Bureau makes Mexico one of the few nations in the world with a national bureau dedicated to meetings and conventions. This office aids in planning, promoting and developing any event by integrating the information provided by the country’s more than 50 local CVBs with that of Mexico’s major suppliers. This office has strategic alliances with ICCA, MPI, SITE, ASAE, IAEE, PCMA, HSMAI, IAHMP, among others.
Some of the services provided are: meeting planners’ guides, information on venues and accommodation, site-inspection management, press releases, information on general services providers, information on catering services providers, information on restaurants and banquet facilities, city maps and visitors information (DVDs and Electronic Info), information on City Tour Providers, etc.
Mexico can offer more than 500,000 rooms in four, five and special category hotels, and 3,100 in luxury hotels. The country also offers 55 Convention Centers with the state-of-the-art meeting facilities with spaces that can adapt to any kind of event from 13,000 up to 597,000 sq feet.
Mexico has always held large International Meetings and Conventions. Some of the most important upcoming events are:
- 4th Annual Convention of the Society of American Travel Writers, Guadalajara - October 2009
- 9th World Wilderness Congress, Merida - November 2009
- 33rd International Herpetological Symposium Monterrey – 2011
