Destination Description
The warm sandy beaches, exciting marine life and towering mountains are all valid reasons to venture to Colima, located along the Pacific Coast of Mexico. Particularly attractive for eco-tourism, Colima is the home of an actual active volcano, Volcan de Fuego which stands 3,960 meters above sea level. For some fun seaside adventures, Colima boasts a series of pristine surfing beaches where revelers can take to the sea with their boards, a snorkel, or just some sunblock and a good book.
The state is also known for its scrumptious seafood caught just off the coast in many instances just hours before it is served. Aside from seafood, regional specialties include sweet bread and mescal punch, both of which have a distinctly exotic flavor.
