Keeping participants hydrated at meetings and conferences is important, but that doesn’t mean the beverages have to be boring. Traditional soft drinks and bottled water will always be popular choices, but creative planners are serving up many new and unusual types of drinks. Although some might find the idea hard to swallow, broth beverage stations may debut at meeting venues soon.

Broth is Big

Bone broth is a hot new beverage trend. At Brodo in New York City, customers wait in long lines to purchase steaming cups. The soothing, mineral-rich drink reportedly reduces inflammation and strengthens the immune system. If you like yours spiked, bars in Dallas and Los Angeles are creating cocktails incorporating broth.

Smooth Move

Many Kimpton properties whip up healthy drink options. At the FireSky Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona, guests fuel up at smoothie stations with customized combinations of fruit, Greek yogurt, flaxseed, coconut water, peanut butter and wheatgrass juice. At The Muse Hotel in New York City, planners can add a “build your own” trail mix bar for guests to munch between sessions.

A Bloody Good Beverage

The St. Regis hotel chain celebrates the Bloody Mary with different variations at each of its locations. Here’s a toast to the St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point, California, whose signature cocktail is the Agave Maria Bloody Mary. The recipe, featuring tequila, jalapeno and fresh tomatoes, can set evening activities afire.

Fancy Coffee Drinks

Elevate the average cup of Joe by employing a barista to brew up special coffee creations—maybe even crafting the company logo in the foam. At Ristretto Roasters in Portland, Oregon, employees who resemble chemists carefully pour coffee through glass beakers, coaxing concentrated flavor from the dark brew.

Tea Time

You don’t have to be British to enjoy afternoon tea. Impress meeting guests with a spread like the one presented by The Langham Chicago. Picture butter scones with jam and clotted cream, salmon-topped toast and chicken salad with Marcona almonds and currants presented on Wedgwood china, and washed down with a fine selection of teas.
