We are seeking an Associate Content Producer with creativity, drive and excellent editorial skills to be part of our team. Reporting to the Content Chief, you’ll be responsible for delivering stories and projects on time while meeting Smart Meetings’ editorial style and quality. Your print and digital work will help our audience discover the people, places and information they need.

You’ll use your talents to

-Write and post digital stories and social media on the news of the day, from hotel mergers and acquisitions to keeping healthy on the road.
-Write and edit magazine features on such topics as food and beverage trends, city snapshots and career tips.

Travel on press trips and represent the company at industry events, trade shows and local events.
-Edit advertorial profiles and oversee layout.
-Fact-check various stories.
-Help proof and copyedit magazine pages during production.

Desired skills and experience:

-B.A. in Journalism or related field.
-2-3 years of magazine industry experience.
-Excellent writing and research skills.
-Excellent editing skills; knowledge of AP and Chicago styles.
-Excellent time-management and organizational skills.

Position is based in Sausalito, CA and working remotely is not an option.

This is the best position in hospitality, when you sell a piece of business, you get paid on it. It’s different from hotels, and that your inventory is in limited to one or several properties. This is a base plus commission position.

Having an existing book of business in the group sales area and an extensive network of meeting planners would increase success quickly.
